Webinar - Large Geothermal Systems: Development, Design, and Drilling

Webinar - Large Geothermal Systems: Development, Design, and Drilling
Monday, November 17, 2025 (2:00 PM - 3:00 PM) (EST)
Description
Ground-Source (geothermal) Heat Exchangers (GSHPs) are the greenest, most efficient solution to heating and cooling available in the market in terms of operational energy use for electric systems. This workshop will provide a foundational overview of geothermal concepts, including basic thermodynamics, geoscience, and drilling. Attendees will be exposed to a comprehensive review of these concepts, their benefits in building energy applications, key considerations for developers, project economics, and available incentives. We will introduce a vertically integrated solution to developing large geothermal systems in various site scenarios and provide an overview of project ROIs, explore best practices in site selection, and workshop potential project scenarios. This multi-disciplinary collaborative approach will be used as the primary model for designing, drilling, and maintaining large geothermal systems. The presentation will conclude with discussions about innovative technology in the field of closed-loop geothermal system installations. Covered topics will include Thermal Energy Networks (TENs), Borehole Thermal Energy Storage (BTES), inclined and directional drilling, unbalanced loads, and drilling in urban environments. We look forward to an open, collaborative discussion and will make ourselves available to any questions.
Presenters
